Diaper Bags
You need a bag to use as a diaper bag, but what kind is an entirely personal decision. Diaper bags range from very cheap to very expensive. Any large purse or gardening bag will do.
My hospital gave me a free one that worked perfectly fine and became my "guest bag" since I wanted a more stylish one for me.
Since your diaper bag will become your purse for the next few years, I chose to indulge. The higher end bags have some features you
may enjoy if you have the money to spend.
When I was looking, I thought the Petunia Picklebottom bags were pretty, but they were dry-clean only. I liked the feel of the
Loom Marsupial , but thought the changing pad
was too small. I decided on the Fleurville Mothership [photo top].
Fleurville has since come out with a new design I think is even better because it solves the problem of tiny cracks in the bottom of the
plastic. I recommend this one [photo bottom].
Features to consider:
Is it large enough to fit the things you want to carry?
Does it have a thermal bottle pocket?
Does it have a changing pad and is it large enough?
Is the strap padded?
Is it machine washable or plastic-coated so that it can be easily cleaned?
Is the inside water-repellant?
